In a move designed to financially bolster the South Routt School District, the middle and high schools have operated on one campus since the fall of 2003. The high school consists of grades nine through twelve and the middle school of grades seven through eight. In Colorado's 2007-08 School Accountability Report, the high school earned a rating of High in its Academic Performance. Principal of the high School is James Chamberlin, who has been with the school since 2001. There were 122 students in grades nine through tweleve enrolled in the high school during the 2007-08 school year. The school's 25 staff members include 10 full-time and five part-time teachers, which keeps student-to-teacher ratios around 7.9:1 to 11.9:1. Soroco High School competes in the Colorado High School Athletic Association’s Class 1A Western Slope League.
